A fellow officer remembers
Bill was in my task force attached to a Vietnamese armored cav battalion. I spoke with him on the radio during a fierce battle with north Vietnamese foeces. He left the safety of his tracked vehicle to better direct artillery fire. I remember the horrible feeling I hsd when his radio went silent. The next day, I took his body by helicopter to our headquarters. Bill was a hero.

Too soon
We played Cub Scout baseball (Pack B-4, Adams School, Birmingham)
and were close pals. He played a steady third base. And now this. It could have been me but I stayed home. Have been to the Wall five times and made my tracings.
They sit in the bottom of my dresser drawer and I have quit asking 'Why?".

Thank You
Dear Lt William Lawson, Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Unit Commander. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is the 1st full day of spring. Happy Spring! For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
