Thank You
Dear Lt John Lassitter, Thank you for your service as an HMH/M/L/A (I) - Helicopter Pilot. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear 1LT John Irving Lassitter, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

MY BEST BUDDY IN GRADE SCHOOL
JOHN WAS MY BEST FRIEND AND BUDDY IN GRADE SCHOOL, IN SUMMERDALE, ALABAMA WHEN WE WERE GROWING UP. WE USED TO DREAM OF FLYING AND DRAWING AIRPLANES AND COWBOYS AND INDIANS. JOHN WAS AN EXCELLENT ARTIST AND PAINTER TOO. HE GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL AT FOLEY, HIGH SCHOOL IN FOLEY, AL JUST SOUTH OF SUMMERDALE, ALABAMA. HE IS BURIED IN SERENITY GARDENS IN MOBILE, AL JUST OFF INTERSTATE 1-10 COMING EAST AT DAUPHIN ISLAND PARKWAY. I VISIT HIM EVERYTIME WE GO DOWN TO MOBILE TO VISIT MY FAMILY AND CARRY HIM A NEW FLAG. I STILL MISS HIM GREATLY. R.I.P. MY FRIEND. I AM POSTING ONE OF JOHN'S SENIOR PICTURES FROM FOLEY HIGH SCHOOL THAT HE SENT ME IN 1964 AFTER WE MOVED TO MOBILE, I GRADUATED AT MOBILE. CO.
