THE WALL OF FACES

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I, too, have participated for more than 20 years in the Wreaths Across America ceremony mentioned in KR's post and consider it a privilege to honor these heroes.

The “Friends of Rocky Versace” remember one of the 68 * men whose name is chiseled into stone beneath a Gold Star at the Captain Rocky Versace Plaza and Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Captain Paul Martin Bayliss, USAF, on what would’ve been his 83rd birthday – 20 March 20218 (listed year of birth on this page - 1935 - is incorrect (should be 1938)).

During a "clandestine, spontaneous happening" at the CPT Rocky Versace Plaza and Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Memorial Day 2020, the "Friends of Rocky Versace" remembered Captain Paul M. Bayliss, U.S. Air Force, as well as Alexandria's 67 other Vietnam War Fallen Heroes. A video of the "happening" is available for viewing at this link/URL:

I new Captain Bayliss at Laughlin AFB Texas when I was a student in Undergraduate Pilot training. He was not my primary instructor pilot, but I flew a formation training ride solo on his wing in T-38's.

I had been having trouble with T-38 formation and was afraid I'd flunk out because of it. That day he took me thought some pretty harry formation flying, and I never had another problem with formation flying. He probably kept me from washing out.
