Mt. St. Charles and United States Marine Corps

We had fun at the Mount. A Catholic boarding school ran by the Brother's of the Sacred Heart. Especially on the pool table. We walked a similar path only mine was longer . I looked for you in the 70's in Hempstead while attending an American Legion Bowling tournament but you were not to be found. A few years ago MSC sent emails to alumni looking for those who served to add to a Veteran's Display and among those listed was your name. Deceased Quang Nam . I knew why I couldn't find you and was moved that I knew . I too joined the Corps in July 68. You missed so much by giving all. Semper Fi my brother .

honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just four days after your 20th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You

Dear PFC William Larkin, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Yesterday was the 51st anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC William Ronald Larkin, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
