Remembering An American Hero

Dear LT Richard Clive Lannom, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

I STILL HOPE

I was a U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant when I bought a silver MIA/POW bracelet in Washington D.C in front of the Lincoln Memorial from a vendor in 1997. I have since retired form the Marines and still wear his bracelet. I work in Afghanistan as a contractor and being from Henderson, Tennessee I often wonder if my Union City brother will come home. I obviously never had the pleasure of knowing the man as I was born in 1967. However, it is my sincere hope to have him back home for his family's sake and that of the nation.

If I should die...remembrances for LT Richard Clive LANNOM, USN...who made the ulltmate sacrifice!!!

If I should die, ,and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

POW Bracelet

I got a copper bracelet when I was a young teen with Lt. Lannom's name on it. I still have it to this day & am looking at it right now. I never forgot his name, and decided to google it. That's how I found this site. I thank you, Lt. Lannom for your service for our country. I pray for your family.
