"Doc" Lackey, 1st Platoon A Company 4th BN (Mech) 23d Inf Regt, 25th Infantry Division
We served only briefly together. Thank you for your service especially taking care of our wounded platoon members on 13 and 14 February during our battle for Ap Cho, held by a determined NVA and VC force. We shall meet one day up there with our creator God, perhaps all this earthly stuff will fade from our memories. Thank you for your service. May God Bless you richly. 2LT Inf C G "Terry" Bohlinger, 1st Pltn Ldr, A Company 4th BN (Mech) 23d Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division

PFC Vernon Harvic Lackey, Medic 1st Platoon A Company 4th BN (Mech) 23d Inf Regt 25th IDI
Vernon, we served briefly as TET 1968 was kicking off keeping all of us very busy with running supply convoys security and even reinforcing the small ARVN CU CHI compound one night, a trip up to Trang Bang and then try taking out the NVA and VC holding Ap Cho. I learned of your passing some 30 years later when I first met some of our platoon members at a 25th Inf Div Assoc. Reunion in Spokane WA. I was wounded that same day, we shall meet one day up there...and likely all this on earth will fall from our memories. God Bless You. Thank you for all you did to take care of our platoon. 2LT Inf C G "Terry" Bohlinger 1st Platoon Leader A Company 4th BN (Mech) 23d Inf Regt, 25th Infantry Division

Thank You
Dear PFC Vernon Lackey, Thank you for your service as Medical Corpsman. Thank you for the lives you saved. Your 52nd anniversary just passed, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, today is Ash Wednesday. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels
