Remembering An American Hero

Dear A1C Abraham Schwartz, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

A Young Life Lost

Dear Abraham~
I am a sophomore at Gridley High School in Illinois. I am required to post remembrances for soldiers who gave their life in the Vietnam War. As a 15-year-old sophomore, it is hard for me to believe that someone so young could have given his or her life for our country. It unbelievable what Veterans went through in the war. I have spoken to a few, and they are very vague in their descriptions of the war because of the pain it brings them. I know that it was hard for someone in his or her later twenties to deal with the ideas of war, but I know that it must have been worse for you as a 21-year-old man. I want to thank you for giving your life for the sake of our country. You will always be remembered for the sacrifice you gave for my freedom. Thank you and God Bless. Amber Kamischke
