Misadventure (Friendly Fire)

CPL Terry L. Adams was rifleman serving with E Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. On July 14, 1967, CPL Adams was with his unit on a night ambush patrol in the vicinity of Da Nang in Quang Nam Province, RVN. At approximately 3:00 AM, Adams reportedly climbed over a wall to enter a Marine squad’s position. He was mistaken for a Viet Cong and two Marines opened fire, striking him in the chest and back of the head. Adams was fatally injured in the incident. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
