Thank You
Dear PO2C Arden Krukow, Thank you for your service as a Machinist's Mate 2nd Class. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is President’s Day Weekend. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of MM2 Arden L. Krukow
On January 22, 1969, MM2 Arden L. Krukow was an advisor on a Republic of Vietnam Navy (VNN) PCF Swift boat operating on the Cai Lon River in Kien Giang Province, RVN. While participating in a Sea Lords Operation, the VNN Swift boat came under fire from enemy forces on the west bank of the Cai Lon. During the engagement, MM2 Krukow was hit by shrapnel and concussion from an enemy B-40 rocket, knocking him overboard. He was immediately swallowed by the black waters of the river. Subsequent attempts to retrieve his body by combined efforts of U.S. Navy forces, U.S. Army air cover, and VNN Coast Guard elements failed. His body was later located and returned to Allied forces.
