THE WALL OF FACES

It seems like yesterday when we met and took the flight test together-that's where we met-me from New Milford and you from Oradell. Basic training together and flight school together until you went to Cobra school and I went to Charlie model school. It was a heart breaker when I heard the news. When I go to the Wall I also look for you and say a prayer for you. For your honorable service I know you are in heaven.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrances from those who knew you are touching. May you rest in eternal peace.

Warrant Officer Anthony Brian Battel was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action. He served as an Attack Helicopter Pilot and was assigned to C TRP, 1ST SQDN, 9TH CAVALRY, 1ST CAV DIV.

THE NEW YEAR IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU.
