do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will always be with us.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will always be with us.

Memories
I was 11 when you loss your life for our freedom. I was a neighborhood kid that hung out with your family. I was at the Memorial Wall this past week 2-22-20. While walking past I was telling my friend that I knew ONE soldier on this wall. We stopped randomly and there I was in front of your name. The one young soldier I knew. I cannot express the emotion I felt for Steven and his family as I randomly stood directly in front of his name on the Memorial Wall. I found your picture on this site and was immediately taken back to being at your home on Reames Ave. You and your family suffered the ultimate sacrifice. You are thought of often.
