Remembering An American Hero
Dear WO Walter Norman Koslosky, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

If I should die...remembrances for WO1 Walter Norman KOSLOSKY, USA...Pittsburgh's bravest of heroes!
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

ToPut A Face With A Name
Dear Walter, to honor your memory and the sacrifice you made for our country I want to make sure your photo will be displayed on your birthday each and every year when the Education Center is completed, so it is with great pride and humility that I post this remembrance with a picture of you that was furnished to me by Gregory Domain, whose brother Edward also from Sharpsburg also made the supreme sacrifice. You are not forgotten and remain in the hearts of many all these years later. You have been designated to be one of God's special angels, along with the love of my life, who also sacrificed his life during this war 45 years ago. God Bless You, Walter, for being who you were and for all you did--we live in freedom to this day thanks to heroes like you.

For WO1 Walter Norman KOSLOCKY, USA...another of Pittsburgh's bravest of heroes...a helicopter pilot
He loved us so.
Every day, in a hundred ways, he told us so.
In honesty, in affection, he told us so.
He loved us so.
Every day, in a hundred ways, he showed us so.
With loyalty and bravery, he showed us so.
He was our defender, and he kept us free!
He took an oath to guard us, and fought for liberty!
He loved us so, and we should know.
For we loved him so.
Mr. Koslocky (warrant officers are addressed as 'Mister', as in 'Mr. Koslocky' as he was a Warrant Officer-1.), you had given all that mortality can give! You flew like the mighty eagle in defense of liberty and justice for all! You flew your helicopter in combat, greasing the enemy and saving many allied lives. I know that facing death every day is NEVER easy for any soldier in combat, even those who sport ten hash marks down their left sleeves (signifying thirty years or more of service in our Army.),but you soldiered on in the air. You flew and you fought for the right without question or pause! You had been there and done that in Vietnam! You had brought honor to Pittsburgh, the HOME OF HEROES BRAVE AND TRUE!...the city where three rivers meet...and the home of the BUCS and the STEELERS! You had lived up to the code of conduct and chivalry of those who guard this beloved land!...an ideal SO NOBLE that it arouses a sense of pride, and yet, of humility! I honestly...and strongly...believe that Jill Corey, whom Avonmore (her home town) and Pittsburgh (where she got her start) can claim as one of their own, and whom I admire as one of mky three top favorite, fabulous songbirds of all time, including Julie Andrews. who is from England, and Dusty Springfield, also from England, but she passed on some years before, would be proud of your service to America, and the sacrifices you made to keep our country free! Well done, Sir! Be thou at peace. ARMY STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
