honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am heartened you returned home after the passage of so many years though I wish it had been under very different circumstances. May you rest in eternal peace.

POW BRACELET

I proudly wore my Lt. Dale Koons POW bracelet back in the day and still keep it safely in my jewellery box today. I felt proud to honour him and his service and still do. I lived in Michigan at the time but now in Australia. God bless.

Dale Koons was a beacon for all of us.

Dale was my college roommate in the Stadium Scholarship Dorm at The Ohio State University for our junior and senior years, 1966-68. He loved AFROTC, and dreamed of flying. I will never forget him, nor his wife Phyllis. He was in my wedding when I married Jan in 1968. We could not believe that he was lost so soon after getting over to 'Nam, and the agonizing years that went by before his remains were finally found. Rest in peace, Dale, rest in peace.
