We Will Remember
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

A TRUE AMERICAN HERO
I first met Calvin "Bill" Kolb
when I was 5 yrs old... My family had just moved in to the farm across the road and I saw this kid by the fence across the street. My mom said go invite him over for some cookies and milk. Well needless to say Bill and I soon became very good friends.
The second picture posted is my sixth birthday with Bill standing on the left side in back of me. He was 2 yrs older than me and as life went on he became like my big brother. We would visit each other almost daily. He became almost a member of the family, working on our farm in the summer and such. He introduced me to a lot of first time things...one of those was bb guns ( him and his dad) were avid bird hunters
ad he taught me how to handle firearms which I consider a great lifetime gift.
He was an excellent marksman and earned such medals in the Army...
The day before he left for Vietnam I walked down the road and visited with him and told him how concerned I was about his safety and I will never forget the last words I heard from him - Aw don't worry about me Dave... I'll be back before you know it.
Yep that was my big brother Bill. Not afraid of anything or anybody. His death left a big hole in my soul which I will never fill...THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATED SERVICE.
R.I.P. My Brother

A cousin I barely knew
Calvin
Although you were about 9 yrs older than me, I do remember you, the sacrifice you gave, what your loss did to your mom and dad. I remember seeing your name on the war memorial in DC and crying for the loss of relationship we never had. Our family wasn't particularly clse but that was the Kolb way. As we near the 45th anniversary of your passing, I will not forget.
Your cousin Matt
