Fellow soldier at Loc Ninh
I had the priviledge to spend two weeks with John as my orientation before going on to my own camp. I spent the week before John died with him on an operation. It was my honor to escort his body to Bien Hoa airbase to be sent home to his family. John was a serious, intense, and very professional soldier. I will never forget his sacrifice for his country.

Fellow SF Officer
John and others from our Infantry OCS class volunteeered for Airborne and Special Forces duty in 1967. I last saw John in 1968 before we left for our 5th Group units of assignment in Vietnam from Nha Trang. Like the other entry, I knew John was just happy to serve his country, and to be with the 5th Group. He is truly missed, as he was as fine of a soldier and leader as anyone could ever want. We miss him. He achieved his dream, and; that is far more then many men can say. I shall never forget him. God Bless.

A Friend
John and I trained together at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I have several pictures of him preparing for a parachute jump and some memories of him as a fine man. We were both in the 3rd. Special Forces Group and both assigned to the 5th. Special Forces Group in Vietnam. We did not see each other after we shipped out for Vietnam. I heard of his death only after I visited the 5th. SF headquarters in Yna Trang (spell). I would be pleased to share my rememberances and photos of John with any of his family or friends.
