honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just eight days after your 21st birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You
Dear Sgt Charles Klancke, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Your 71st birthday is today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the 8th Day of Christmas, Merry Christmas and happy New Year in heaven. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Roommates
Met Charlie in the fall of 1967 when he came to live us on Columbus Ave in Minneapolis--three college students and Charlie--one from Glencoe (his home town) and two from Hastings.. Charlie was working at an auto dealership and driving a 'hot' car'---which earned him several tickets for 'exceptional driving'. He met his wife while living with us--a girl friend of a sister of another friend. It was instant love. Charlie had a sweet innocent laugh, great sense of humor. I remember our first trip to target in Bloomington for groceries---I still laugh about that. Six months later--went went our sperate ways. Sorry I took so long to find you! Think of you often. Craig

Best Friend
Charlie was my husband’s best friend growing up in Glencoe, MN. Al always wanted to come and find his name on ‘The Wall’ but never made it. I found Charlie’s name yesterday and to honor both of them. Al served in the Marine Corps 1969-73.
