Remembrance

PBR-77 was just passed by PBR-79. Fall 1966. ENFN Read is perched on the bow, GMGSN Klipp is at the turret and BM1 William K. Batchelder is at left. Coxswain’s name is unknown. Batchelder was killed in May 1967. Klipp was injured in the same incident of decidedly murky circumstances.

Remembrance

BM1 William K. Batchelder, boat captain of PBR-77 with a seahawk he killed November 1966 with a single shot from his M-14. That was after a number of us tried to hit it with our rifles. Batchelder was killed May 1967.
