THE WALL OF FACES

George was my cousin and 11 years older than I. We always played football one on one. He was the greatest guy in the world. I will never forget my friend and football buddy.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush

The "Friends of Rocky Versace" remember one of Rocky's fellow alumni from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point - and a brother Airborne-Ranger - 1LT George Clinger Bass, USMA Class of 1969, on what would've been his 72d birthday - 8 March 2019.

George was in the class ahead of me at West Point and was my platoon leader my Plebe year. It has also been a sad day to remember his death but remembering him at West Point always brings a smile to my face. RIP George and happy birthday on 8 March in heaven.
