Thank You
Dear Cpl Edward King, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Your 71st birthday is soon, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Advent, and almost Christmas. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Still wearing the uniform jacket.
The day before Edward left for Vietnam, he ate dinner with his family. As he was leaving, I remember him saying, "A year from now I'll pull this old uniform jacket off for good!" and he was gone. The last time I saw him, he still had it on and wears it to this day. He is at rest on a hill at Liberty Cemetery in Painter, AL.
