A Proud 8404
I remember Doyle when we were in the same company at Field Med School at Camp Lejune, NC. early spring/summer of 67. He like most of us Doc’s who were going green was so very proud to being trained to serve with the Marines. Doyle was really “gung ho”. While in same area with my unit while on operation Kingfisher,
I remember G 2/4 getting overrun and hearing of His death. We lost so many during that time. I was with K 3/4 and like 2/4, spent time at the ‘washout” as well as Conthien, Cam Lo, C2, A3, etc. I knew Doyle would go above and beyond the call for his Marines
which he did out of love and respect.
With gratitude
