do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will always be with us....

Next week, on 11/11/18 at the new Fontana Amphitheatre (where the old Miller park softball park and the "plunge" were) I have the honor of presenting an updated sketch of photo and biographical sketch of you in a booklet I am writing for the Fontana VFW, honoring all the Fontana Brothers-in Arms-who gave their all and did not return home. Two of you from the class of '67, you and Richard Burns, and two of my classmates from the class of '68, Paris Maldonado and Ken Robinson, are among the 10 Fontana guys who were killed in action and whom will be remembered by the hundreds of people expected at this Veterans Day program. I so hope I'll see you in our next tour of duty. Bill Freeman (Army and Army Reserve 69-72
