Remembering

I can remember as a child of 10 visiting Aunt Waymon and Frances Nell. She told Daddy and I of your death they had been notified. We cried. I’m sorry for such a horrific death but know you will never be forgotten.

Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Award for Valor

PFC William Hunter Kilburn was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his sustained heroism in action. He served as a Rifleman and was assigned to A CO, 1ST BN, 5TH MARINES, 1ST MARDIV.
