honoring you...

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Great Trooper

Kelly was a team member of the mortar, I was mortar platoon sergeant. Always did as he was told and a good soldier. Kelly died in my arms after being wounded by NVA mortar fire. Great trooper, RIP

Thank You

Dear Sp4 James Kelly, Thank you for your service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. I researched you on the 51st anniversary of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. We are approaching Thanksgiving. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
