This great man
I never met him, but if I knew what he would do in the future, and lived when he did, I would feel blessed to be in his presence. Reading about him makes me more proud of the army, and inspires me to join the armed forces. May god bless his soul, and may his family find peace.

Medal of Honor
Our dad, SSGT Edward Kaneshiro was recommended for the Medal of Honor in 1966 for his heroic actions in Vietnam on Dec 1, 1966. Tragically he was killed 3 months later on Mar 6, 1967. He was finally awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously this year on July 5, 2022. Although the recommendation for this medal was 56 years ago, our family kept hoping he would never be forgotten. Therefore, we are very honored, grateful, and overwhelmed by the attention given to our dad's combat valor. God Bless Our Troops.

My Sergeant in Vietnam
I was with hem when he was killed march 6 1967> We were on patrol near a village
and came under fire by V.C. troops killing our point man john Dunn. sarg had us lay down a base of fire while crowd forward to see if he could help Dunn or retrieve him from the open area as he did he came under fire himself and received a fatal shot to the head. we continued our assault on the enemy and retrieved sergeant Kaneshiros and Dunns body and pulled back for a napalm strike on the area. i think of him every day........
