honoring you....

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Great memories

You were my friend with 3/28th marines and I remember running into you in Vietnam . Seeing youy picture brought a smile to my face. Look forward to seeing you when I catch up with you.

Remembering You

While not old enough to have lived through the war or experience this time in history, I have read "Letters to Viet Nam," "The Things They Carried" and finally watched the televised "Letters to Viet Nam." At the very end they showed the veterans memorial and all of the names. Your name was the one that caught my eye and I felt this need to type your name, to say it, to remember it. It brought me here in this moment, reflecting on other's testimonies to hear your story. Sir, I thank you for your sacrifice and for your bravery and your service. One day I shall shake your hand and never will I forget the ultimate sacrifice you gave.

With respect,
Caitlin

Remembering You

So sorry that you didn't make it back. When something good happens to me I often wish that you and Richard could have had those experiences. I went in and returned without a scratch. Go figure.
