LEFT FOR HAROLD KAHLER

If I should die...this remembrance is for COL. Harold Kahler, USAF.
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Never Forgotten
I was 9 years old when I got my bracelet in 1970. I saved my own money, and went with a bunch of friends to get it. I wore it all the time, but it started to crack in the middle (from me taking it on and off) and one day I lost it. But after all those years I can still see his name and date on that bracelet. I just stumbled upon this web site and was happy to find him and to know that someone else had his bracelet. I know I'll never forget him and the sacrefice he made for our country.

Always Remembered
I did not personally know Harold Kahler, but as a college student in the 60's, I wore a silver Vietnam Rememberance Bracelet with his name enscribed on it and the month and year he was listed as missing in action. Thirty years later, I still have this bracelet which is displayed in my home so that he and others will not be forgotten. During a trip to Washington, I located his name on the wall. No one should ever forget the lives lost and the lessons learned from this war.
