I think of you often, Sam
I was a year behind Sam at Chamberlain High and sat by him in government class. Sam had no upper classman pretensions. He was everyone's friend. I didn't serve with Sam but followed him with my service in the Air Force. I'm glad to have been Sam's friend and proud that we both served in the US military. Rest easy, Sam. You honor us all.

Bronze Star Medal Award for Valor
Specialist Five Samuel Joseph Jorgensen was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action.
He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Merit for his sustained meritorious service. He served as an Armor Crewman and was assigned to M CO, 3RD SQDN, 11TH ARMORED CAVALRY.
