Machine gunner in my platoon of the 9th Infantry Rangers. He loved farming as he declared.

We stood together during a firefight from a rice paddy into a brushed in dyke. Terry kept NVA at bay with devastating M60 machinegun fire. He advanced to subdue fire that was intense. His charge put NVA unit into withdrawal, allowing our platoon to advance and and conquer a numerically superior enemy. Drawing fire upon himself he saved many of our lives, before drawing fire to himself, unfortunately being the victim of a head shot. He was courageous and is remembered as such. I was the pointman of our platoon, he fell next to me. Sincerely, Leonard Nyberg, Babbitt, Mn.

B 5/60/9th inf. ranger comrade Nyberg

Terry was an accomplished machinegunner in my Ranger Infantry squad. We were 6 feet apart in a heavy firefight when he was hit in the head and killed. He was beyond any help, his spirit was instantly swept away. He was courageous, disciplined & rugged, an excellent soldier & a great friend. He loved farming , from whence he had emerged as a first class man. We loved him in our squad, miss him still. Len Nyberg
