Friend
I went to high school and confirmation with Melvin in Minot, ND. He always seems to be happy and easy to get along with. I was told by my parents that he had died in Vietnam, and there is a memorial plaque at Rosehill Cemetary in Minot, but Melvin is buried at Arlington National Memorial Cemetary along with the other members of the aircraft he was is. He will be missed.

Faces From the Wall
Melvin Johnson was a Minot ND boy who came to live with his brother in Everett WA. His street was Lombard... not his town. He joined the Naval Reserve and was sent to Vietnam where he served for a year as a Seabee. The plane he was flying home on crashed into a mountain enroute to the USA. He is remembered on www.facesfromthewall.com as one of more that 1140 Washington State men whose names are on the Vietnam Memorial Wall
