AIRBORNE!

Today I visited a memorial in Ocean Springs, MS dedicated to the sons of Mississippi who died in the Republic of Vietnam. SFC Johnson was a Mortar Platoon Sergeant in Company A 2nd BN 501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and was KIA after only 16 days in country. His sister is my mother-in-law. I served in the 1st BN 327th Infantry, and the 3rd BN 319th Field Artillery. He could not have died among better men.
