You are missed!

Brother George..... I want you to know that I love you and miss you very much! I often wonder what your life would have been like had you survived your service in Viet Nam, and what mine might have been with you in it. Although you were closer to Brother Budd in age, you were closer to me in size - remember...people used to call us twins! I have very fond memories of the times we enjoyed together during our youth. When you became a Marine, I thought it only natural for you. At any time I see a Marine in uniform or even just a Marine bumper sticker on a car going by, I think of you, of how proud I was (and still am) for your being in the Corps, and of how terribly much I miss you! Love you....brother Don.

Thank You

Dear PFC George Johnson, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Happy Birthday

Happy Semper Fi Birthday to My Buddy George D. Johnson from Naples, Florida. Who joined the U.S. Marine Corps with me. Today is his 71st Birthday, In 2 days I will be 72. I'll celebrate for him. God only knows I wish you were here. Although I wasn't with you when you fell in Vietnam, I will always carry your memory with me forever. You followed me & I cannot shake the feeling of some responsibility. It's taken me so long to be able to finally say that.

We played basketball together and had some classes at Naples High.

I have always missed you as you were a friend. You were honest, braver and stood up to bullies. I was never surprised at your service and bravery.
