honoring you...
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

A GREAT FRIEND!
Buddy was a Senior at Douglas Freeman High School in Richmond VA when I was a Sophomore. We were in the DSF Marching Band. Buddy helped me join a show cover band he was in called the "Offbeats". mostly populated with prep school folks. After graduation, Buddy went to Virginia Commonwealth University. He soon received "greetings" from Uncle Sam. Being a patriot, Buddy decided to join the Navy since they offered him a spot in a Navy Band. Soon after, they decided to make him a corpsman, attached him to a combat Marine unit, and sent him to Viet Nam. So sad now that we know what happened. His brother Jim was his best friend.

An all around good guy
Buddy was in the DSF band with me as a sophomore when I was a senior. We both played saxophone. That's Buddy on page 6 of the 1963 DSF year book freezing his butt off at a home football game. He was a great guy; never complained and was easy going. I notice that he was killed one week before I finished my tour in Vietnam.
May you rest in peace Buddy.
