We Will Remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

My brother in battle

I met Bill at Ft Rucker AL. served with him there as well as at Ft Irwin CA. He was the big, cool California guy, I was the green, skinny farm kid from Iowa.
We rode the same charter plane to Cam Rahn Bay in Viet Nam. As we deplaned the stench and the heat were unimaginable. The last time I saw Bill was on that day.
There was a softness under that tough exterior that very few were allowed to see.
I am proud to have known him and to have served with him. How can it possibly be 54 years ago? God bless your soul, William Howard Jett, my friend.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 William Jett, Thank you for your service as a Supplyman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It's the end of summer. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

My Brother

My brother Bill and I grew up in Westchester, Los Angeles, CA. We went to Westchester H.S. and Bill graduated in 1964. He was my younger brother, but he was bigger than me and it was good to have him in my corner.
He planned to be an aircraft mechanic when he left the Army.
I've never forgotten you my brother, and I pray that you continually rest in eternal peace.
Thank you for your great service to our country.

Remembering Bill Jett

Bill was a great lineman for Westchester High in LA. We all thought he was invincible. When we heard that Bill had been killed in Vietnam, we were in shock. Knowing him and seeing him die so young was tragic for us all. To think that he could be stuck down by anyone or anything was a wake-up call about our own mortality. Rest in peace, Bill.
