My Friend

Wiley, I have thought of you often over the years and recall fond memories of thre short time that we were able to spend together. We both were on the track team for Jones County High school and shared a many a laughs and good times on the way to track meets. I attended your funeral services and was quite emotionally, especially when the Bugler played the "Taps". It was the only time that I have ever attended a Military burial and it stays in my mind and heart. I have visited the Viet Nam War Memorial wall in Washington DC and always look you up. To this day, I continue to miss you and think about the great guy that you were to me. Rest in preace my dear friend... John F. Rich jr. class of q969

Dear PFC Robert Jenkins, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It's the end of summer. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Robert Wiley Jenkins, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
