Part 2: After landing, they briefed the rest of the pilots that he had gotten out okay.
As they gathered in their deployed Pilots Lounge, word came by radio thet the rescue team located his chute in the treeline, and everyone was so overjoyed that the entire room erupted in screams of jubilation and laughter.

Part 1: My father, Jim Womack, remembered the night Mike died as the most horrible evening and night of the Tuy Hóa deployment. The members of the mission reported that they had seen a chute after Mike's Super Sabre was hit

Part 5: - Mike was attacking Viet Cong forces and targets in Laos, on 4 May, 1969, when he died during his 249th Combat sortie. The unit deployed there on 4 June 1968 and departed Tuy Hóa Airbase on 18 May, 1969.
