In Rememberance
Though I never met Gunnery Sergeant James W. Jackson Jr., his name rests daily on my wrist—and even more firmly in my heart. He was declared Missing in Action in Vietnam, but his sacrifice is not lost to time. I wear a silver bracelet engraved with his name as a quiet act of remembrance and gratitude. It’s a small token, but it carries the weight of his courage, his service, and the ache of all who still wait for answers.
His story reminds us that freedom often rides on the shoulders of those who never make it home. I remember him not just as a name, but as a symbol of duty, honor, and the human cost of war. May he never be forgotten.

MIA
Truly sad. I just finished watching a short film on YouTube, that was done by his brothers grandson, I believe (Man Left Behind). Very dismayed that they said that he was wounded in the back, and asked him if he could walk himself down to the chopper site as someone else was having cardiac arrest to work on him. I still can't run that through my head because of all the uploads that I've watched on YouTube (Live fire fights, the Dust-Off's, news reels, etc), there seems to be someone with each person, even other wounded. It also stated that there was a S. Jackson on the chopper that was laid on the other back side from him. Maybe thinking he was James. The empathy that I have for every single one of the people who served in Vietnam is huge, with not only having to deal with war but to come back here and be treated like they were was horrible. This, is tragic... to have a man that is wounded and talking/walking perfectly, be gone without a trace. I don't know why they think he might still be at "FSB Russell"... especially with people saying they did see him get on and off of the chopper. It is really heartbreaking that the Marines promised to look into this matter, but haven't. My heart bleeds for him, his family, friends, his fellow squad and all the veterans. God Bless You.
