I remember him well, and likely am here today because of what he taught me. We served together in H Company 2 Battalion 5th Marines under Capt Gene Bowers on Operations Shelbyville, Swift, and Essex. I have never forgot him, and think of him often. He was a true Marine, my mentor when I first arrived in Vietnam, and a friend. Semper Fi Clarence.

Dear Cpl Clarence Jackson, Thank you for your service a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It's the end of summer and Labor Day is soon. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
