Memorial Day Weekend 2023

Remembering you and those who didn't make it home from the Vietnam War. This year makes 50 years since America left Vietnam, but the time that you and those we lost have been gone seems so much longer.

With respect, always.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Memorial Day Observance

We can tell Memorial Day is coming with the wreaths that hang on front doors, and the small red, white, and blue American flags that line the grass covered graves of the Veterans’ cemeteries all acrosse America. One of those graves is yours, and we honor your life and your memory on this Memorial day.

May we never forget your example and the true cost of our freedoms. You with those who love you paid that cost, and America will be forever indebted.

With respect, always.

SFC Anthony Itzoe

I was stationed with SFC Itzoe at the BRC of the US Army Ranger School at Ft. Benning. He had already served a tour in VN as the RTO for the USMA Grad who held numerous World Records for the Olympic Event: Speed Walking. Tony Itzoe often visited our residence after hours and taught us Karate using our Walls as demo dummies. Fantasticly humurous guy. His was the 1st to sign his best friend SFC Jim Frederick's Book at the Funeral Home after SFC Fred was returned back to Ft Benning to be buried after being KIA at Hill 875 Dak To w/the 173rd Abn Bde. I was the second to sign the book. Four months later, it was my most sad duty to be the first to sign SFC Tony Itzoe's Book at the Funeral Home. He was KIA 4 Months after his best friend SFC Jim Frederick. These two superior NCOs were the Hand-to-Hand Combat Demo Team in the Rangers-in-Action presentation at Ft. Benning. I'm certain they were irreplaceable. They were THAT good only to have their promising careers terminated in the VN War. God Bless you "It.!!" I've noted you in Fred's listing.

Memorial Day 2021

This year, as every year for many, my wife finishes the wreaths she makes for every Memorial Day and our American flag is raised in remembrance, as we observe this somber national holiday. You and our loved ones whose names also are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial are in our hearts. My family and I will never forget the cost of our freedoms, and the men and women who have and continue to step forward to keep America safe.
With respect, always.
