THE WALL OF FACES

His death was the one that finally brought the Vietnam War home to our little town of Denham Springs. Before Doug lost his life, Vietnam was a headline about a faraway place or a few minutes on the evening news, seemingly not connected to our lives. Doug's death changed all that, and we were never the same again.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Douglas Gerald Impson, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you PFC D.G. Impson, for a job well done!

Doug-I think of you all the time. As the years go by I miss you more and more. I found someone through the Virtual Wall that was with you 09-15-68 but haven't gotten the courage to call him. The Impson life changed so much after 09-15-68, Mother and Daddy never got over your leaving. I love you and miss you, Sandra Impson Langrasse

Douglas was my best friend from the time we were babies until he lost his life at age 19 serving our country. He joined the Marines and I joined the U.S. Navy. I was the lucky one. He was a fine man. I wish he were here today.
