Honoring you

I chose your name from the CT map painted in our school which lists the soldiers from our state that lost their lives in Vietnam. As part of the Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School posting project, I would like to honor the sacrifice you made for our country. You are one of the many brave men who died to help your country during the Vietnam War. People say that men who lived are heroes who they are but you are an even greater hero because you sacrificed more. And for that I thank you.

Thank you Captain Barnes

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Eric Marvin Barnes, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Sir, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you Captain E.M. Barnes, for a job well done!

HE WAS A FINE YOUNG MAN AND A GOOD ATHLETE.....

Eric and I were fraternity borthers in Delta Upsilon fraternity at Tufts University, Medford, MA. Eric was a year behind me in school. He was a fine young man and a good athlete. He entered the Marine Corps one year after I did. My fraternity brothers and I will always remember Eric and his vitality.
