He was my good friend
Steve and I hunted together as friends in Garland. I was two months away from going to Nam when he was killed. The Navy wouldn't let me go to his funeral.

His memory is with me still
Although I was but 3 or 4 years old, I remember my Mother's brother sitting in our living room, playing his guitar and singing to his new wife. I think of him often and it saddens me that his life was cut short by the Vietnam war.
Witnessing the pain and loss felt by my family after Steve's death has left me bitter towards the war. I will never forgive this government for that action.
