Friend
Allen I was out there with you and saw you go down. You were a good soldier and a lot of fun to be around. The night befor you were killed you and I stayed and fired while the other three in our group pulled back then we left. I think of you often. Stoney

Allan - I still hear your voice, see your face, love you, miss you
I have always felt that they made a mistake when they said they found your remains - I truly wonder. You were so good at everything you did, especially scouting stuff. It has been hard for me to believe that, even though you were wounded, anyone you didn't want to find you would. You may have just been hurt too badly, but then I don't understand them leaving you there alone. Guess mine isn't a military mind such as yours was. For me that war will never be over. It took you and that was the worst thing possible. You never got to see your second cousins or your nephews. Jane is such a beautiful woman and she was a mere slip of a girl when you left. I don't get to see her now but always felt she was special-she was your sis and my cous. I miss her too. It seemed that the family sort of fell apart with your death-there was always a black cloud there - something in the air that noone really wanted to speak of and yet they did. The years have flown and yet it seems like yesterday that we were roaming the woods at grandpas. All of the uncles, as well as your mom and dad, have passed and are there with you now - you've been there longer - please help them. Know that I will always love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
