honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You were born six days after me and died at 20 years of age. I am now 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Remembering you
Like Doc Butcher, I was also there the day you tripped that deadly booby trap that would ultimately take your young life. With Doc, I helped carry you to the dust-off, urging you to hold on. It's on days like today, Memorial Day, that I think of you and all the other guys we lost. You're in a better place now; rest in peace.

You have never been forgotten.
Roger, I remember that day in the woods very well. I remember the sound of the exploding booby trap and hearing the call "Medic" and finding you. Year after year I relive caring for you that day, wishing I could have done more. A part of me went with you as the dust-off lifted off taking you to 12th Evac Hospital in Cu Chi.
I have always remembered you as the brave, outstanding, honorable Infantry grunt, and brother you were. It was an honor for me to have had the privilege of serving in Combat in Vietnam with you.
May you forever be resting in peace my friend, and brother.
