Sikeston Daily Standard (8/2/67): Charles Humble Dies in Vietnam — Mrs. Larry Richards, Mrs. Polly Burch, both of Matthews MO, and Mrs. Vina Haynes, Sikeston, attended the funeral of Charles Ray Humble in DeValls Bluff, AR. He was a nephew of Mrs. Haynes and a cousin of Mrs. Richards.

Humble was born July 27, 1946. Henlisted in the air force Aug. 2, 1965. He graduated from DeValls Bluff high school in 1964 and arrived at DeNang, Vietnam, air force base May 11. He had been in Vietnam for two months and four days when he lost his life in an attack on the base July 15.

Survivors include his parents, Charles Humble and Ruby Lucille (Haynes) Humble; a brother J.C. Humble, DeValls Bluff; aunts, Mrs. Rosie Jackson, Mrs. Ida Bray and Mrs. Mabel Beggs, all of Carlisle, Mrs. Pauline Owen of Des Arc, Ark.; uncles, Archie Haynes, Jimmy Humble, both of Hazen, Ark.; Cecil Haynes, North Little Rock, Ark.; Robert Humble, DeValls Bluff and Harold Haynes.
