Trang Sup Special Forces Camp was located approximately four miles northwest of Tay Ninh City in Tay Ninh Province, RVN. On November 12, 1966, the camp sustained an enemy mortar bombardment. Two members of Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 13th Artillery stationed at Trang Sup were wounded in the attack, one fatally. SGT James O. Hughes died after suffering a metal fragment wound to the chest. Dear Sgt James Hughes, Thank you for your service as a Cannon Crewman. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

James is buried at Rusk County Memorial Gardens, Henderson,TX.
