honoring you...

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

My Uncle James

The first photo is of my dad and the second one is his brother James. He was the oldest boy of 12 kids. The others looked up to him and my dad misses him very much. I never got to meet him but I have heard stories about him. My dad named my brother after him. He was 20 years old. Sigh...I have a daughter that's 20. Just getting started in her own life...I am very proud of James because I know how he was raised. Protector of all those not quite as big or strong as he was. He was an excellent shot like all of his siblings. I know he had the back of the soldiers he served with and died fighting. Freedom is sacrifice, the sacrifice of many families like our own. Protect it because it has come at a high price.
