Old Friend

Larry it has been a long time. I hope you have forgiven me for that stupid remark I made, whatever it was. When my mouth was open there was bound to be something stupid coming out of it. I see from another message from a young lady you just had a birthday, so Happy Birthday my friend. Larry maybe things would have been different if I had been with you that day. Maybe you would have been listening to me make a stupid remark. Ha! I wish I had been there and some way kept you away from the explosion. I am sorry I wasn't Larry, I hope you have forgiven me. On a good note, I saw the traveling wall and got an imprint of your name. I was hoping your wife had left a picture of herself with that new son you never got to see. I am sure by now he is married with his own children and probably is the head of some big business of some kind. My friend I miss you and I am so sorry for what happened to you so early in your life. Until we meet again R.I.P. SGT. Gary York E. Company 4th of the 47th 9th inf. div.
