Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Timothy Louis Hren, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

My Marine Brother

I remembering sharing time with you and your family in 1966 before we headed to MCRD in San Diego..Platoon 1069.....We went to ITR at Pendleton and parted ways I was off to Vietnam and you to training on the East Coast. So many old memories of a short friendship promising to connect in the future.

Tim, I'm sorry. I looked for you for years trying to locate your family. I figured you completed service and move away. This year I decided to look for you on the Memorial site. I finally found you.

I cannot tell you or your family how sorry I am. So many friends and marine brothers did not make it home. I miss you but I have my old memories of riding in your Mustang and laughing.

Semper Fi Tim so day we will meet again. PJ
