You will never be forgotten Gilbert. Always remembered and missed by your whole family. Cody,Ashley,Calli,and Ryker Gilbert.

I did not know Gilbert personally, but shared a common bond we were Manchus. I was in Charlie Company while Gilbert served with Bravo in the year 1969. June 19th was an all day fire fight with NVA regulars a very formable fighting force. I remember the jet air strikes were so close to us that ground shook beneath us that day. But when all was done and said at the end of the battle it was us ground soldiers that finished the intense fighting that day.The enemy was defeated but not before 3 of are comrades gave their lives, regretfully Gilbert was one of who heroically sacrificed his life so others could go on to live another day. This was last battle of this magnitude that Manchus would ever fight again in Vietnam. To Gilberts parents and relatives you have my regards. I live in a small town called Fertile MN.
