Our Love

Michael ,We were only married a few years before you were drafted. Then before you went to Vietnam I was pregnant with our Son Michael Steven born Sept. 25 1967. I thank God that you got to see pictures of your son and felt so proud . Not knowing what lad a waiting. In six weeks after his birth On November 16 1967 God took you home to be with Him. Now this year marks 54yrs. To me it is always Nov. 16 1967. I always love you and my hearts breaks of you not being able to be with us. However, I know soon I will be seeing you in Heaven. Our son turn out to be outstanding. Looks like you and a go getter.I know you are proud of him .He missed knowing you but, knows about you through me and pictures. One day soon you will meet him too. We three will have a lot to catch up on. My Love to you. Barbara L. Hoover.

Ground Casualty

PFC Michael J. Hoover was a Watercraft Operator serving with the 528th Transportation Company, 4th Transportation Command, Army Support Command, Saigon, 1st Logistical Command. On November 11, 1967, PFC Hoover was aboard a ship operating a crane lifting a 10-ton truck when the cable snapped. The broken cable whiplashed and struck him in the head. Critically injured, Hoover was taken to a medical facility in Saigon where he expired five days later. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org and “Pfc. Michael J.
